Prior to returning to Maranatha as Executive Pastor, Alicia experienced a shift from one country to another, the United States to Norway, in 2013, Alicia Partee has seen both the difficulties and the joys of change firsthand. She understands the work required to follow through such a transition smoothly, and because of her in-depth understanding of the processes that go into it, she has committed herself to helping others. In addition to serving as the CEO and Founder of Generation Mobility since May 2017, she is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a thrive abroad expert, an in-demand public speaker, and the author of a forthcoming book about life transitions in general.

Although optimistic when she made her move to Norway with her husband, Alicia soon realized that she had not prepared herself fully for all of the challenges that were in front of her. Fortunately, she is no stranger to personal difficulties, her thirteen-year career as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist endowing her with skills for examining and analyzing her emotions and the opportunities that she would soon encounter in her new home. She was also fortunate to have seen transitions in a wide range of other areas, personally and professionally. For many years, she worked  in the technology field, and she held multiple leadership positions within public service and mental health organizations: Director of the African American Mental Health Outreach Coalition from 2008 to 2010, Clinical Program Manager at the Los Angeles County Department of Health from 2006 to 2013, and General Manager of the US Embassy Employee Association in Oslo from 2015 to 2016.

Every time that Alicia has faced a transition in her life, she has uncovered a new level of potential within herself, breaking through barriers. After transitioning to life in a new country, she even founded Global Counseling Solutions, through which she served other people who were experiencing similar challenges while they were trying to thrive abroad. Bringing more cutting-edge technology and an entire team of professionals to this realm, she also co-founded Generation Mobility, offering her expertise to global organizations and their families.

Alicia has guided many expatriates and emigrants toward more fulfilling situations abroad, putting evidence-based counseling within reach for professionals and teams when they need them most. For more than twenty years, she has cultivated an admirable reputation for herself, one founded in her service to Fortune 500 corporations, start-ups, and non-profit organizations in Silicon Valley. An entrepreneur at heart, she understands the unique obstacles that stand between creatives and all of their most ambitious goals – and the value that they can find in living abroad as long as they are willing to put in the work. She brings an unmatched passion to the field of mental wellness.

Alicia earned her Bachelor of Science in Leadership at the William Jessup University and her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy at the Western Seminary, after which she served as a pastor. In addition to all of the professional titles she has held, she is also a proud mother and grandmother.
