harvest outreach
The Harvest Outreach Ministry is designed to express God’s compassion for people in need: the poor, the widow, the fatherless, the helpless and downhearted, and serves the city of San Jose in two ministry areas.

Ministry to People without Housing
By serving people who are living without the comfort of shelter, we are fulfilling Jesus’ words in Matthew 25:35-36 and 40, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat…I needed clothes and you clothed me.” When the people asked when they had done this, he replied “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
So, in serving this community, we are not only serving the Lord, but modeling the love of Christ to people who need hope and to see there is still goodness in the world.
Monthly this team assembles bags of food, toiletries, socks, salvation tracts and resource pamphlets, and goes out to serve our homeless population.
Annually, we also distribute new blankets and socks, and new or gently used coats donated through a churchwide campaign.
We greet our brothers and sisters with encouraging words, with joy, and with dignity as we offer the items we’ve assembled and offer to pray for their needs.

Convalescent Care Ministry
Monthly this team goes into a local Convalescent Care or Nursing Home facility to share the love of Christ.
Through our visits we show residents they are remembered and we share the human interaction and loving touch they hunger for. We uplift and encourage with our smiles and hugs, and through singing songs, sharing God’s word, and praying for their concerns.
We also bring small tokens of love such as scripture cards, bookmarks, devotionals and Bibles and we remind them that whatever they face in life, they can bring to the one who cares for them the most; as Jesus teaches in Matthew 11:28, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
